Updating our prior posts on sexual harassment training (May Blog, August Blog), the posters and fact sheets for employers are now available and should be distributed IMMEDIATELY by all New York City employers as the deadline to do so was September 6, 2018. The Posters can be found here: English Poster, Spanish Poster; and the Fact Sheets can be found here: English Fact Sheet; Spanish Fact Sheet. Although they look the same, there should each be used for their separate purposes. Starting April 1, 2019, New York City employers with 15 or more employees should be prepared to provide NYC-compliant training to their employees and for new hires within 90 days of hire.
Starting October 9, 2018, ALL employers in New York State must have compliant policies for sexual harassment that are in line with the model policies issued by the State. On that date, the annual cycle for providing training also commences. New hires must be provided training within 30 days of hire.
